I just googled K2M to find out more about this company after attending a training session with them last week. We are about to start using the “Maysa” system on our patients that have scoliosis and I have to say that this stuff looks brilliant! It looks really easy to use and is very low profile for the patients, I think that it will be much more comfortable for them after the operation. The surgeons are really impressed with the screws and the instrumentation and can’t wait to start using it. I think that the Medtronic spine and the AO companys should be very worried about k2m!

Is this available through the UK NHS system? Presumably ,muscles have to respond to electrical stimuli for a person to be suitable for this implant?What are the other quaifiers? Where can I find further information. Thanks.

This blood test may well indicate a woman has breast cancer – how are we then expected to find the lesion with imaging? There is the potential here for significant anxiety whilst the search is made for the malignant lesion. I am not sure this gives us significant advance in the detection of early disease in young women.

Navigation is definitely a challenge. We recently held a workshop in Toronto, Ontario. An expert was invited to give a systematic overview of the EU regulatory system to small-to-medium size enterprises in the medtech space.

Running your own company is challenging, let alone having to navigate regulatory systems. The speaker did a great job covering the system, and the attendees gained valuable take-home points.
